RO RO POP UP

RORO LORRY FAQs

What is a Roll on and roll off container?
Often referred to as ROROs, these are the next step up from traditional skips. These bins are a more efficient way to dispose of high volumes of waste and reduce the need for multiple skips on site. ROROs are ideal for construction sites and sites with long term waste requirements.

What are the benefits of a RORO?
ROROs allow you to store and dispose of large amounts of waste effectively and efficiently. Due to their extra-large dimensions, ROROs can accommodate a much larger amount of waste meaning you will be able to reduce skip movements on site, as well as reducing your carbon footprint.
It is important to note that, due to their size, you must have the minimum access requirements for them to be stored, delivered and picked up.

How much access do I need for a RORO?

To ensure we can safely get our RORO bins onto site we need a minimum length of 40ft. For a 20 yard, we would need a minimum height of 14ft and for a 40 yard it is a minimum height of 18ft.
Due to the access needed for both size containers, they are not recommended for domestic sites.

What size ROROs are available?

Our RORO bins are available in cubic capacities of 20 yards and 40 yards. To give you an idea of how much our RORO bins can hold, a 20 yard can hold approximately 160-200 standard bin bags and a 40 yard can hold approximately 320-400 standard bin bags.

Can I put a RORO on the road?
No, due to their size they are not permitted on the highway.

Which size is suitable for the heavier waste?
If the waste you are wanting to dispose of consists of heavy waste such as soil, concrete, bricks etc then the 20 yard is suitable for this waste.
40 yard bins are more suited for lightweight and bulkier waste. We ask that these bins are not filled over the top and are a safe and level load when collecting.

What am I NOT ALLOWED to dispose of in a RORO?
As with our skips, we cannot take Fridges/Freezers, Tyres, Paint Cans, Asbestos, Clinical/Medical Waste, Fluorescent Tubes, Solvents, Liquids, Oil, Batteries and Hazardous/Toxic Material.
